For our podcast we have interviewed many people and one of the questions we like to ask is what are the top 3 things you can do to change your life, you would think that this would lead to a blog 3 ways to change your life, but there were too many great ideas to limit it to 3.


How to Change Your Life


Gratitude


Be it in the form of keeping a gratitude journal, noticing the thing that are great around you or letting people know how grateful you are for them, this is the number one thing that has come up time and time again for people, so grab a pen and some paper and get to it and if writing isn't your thing speak it out loud and tell people how grateful you are for them or other things that are in your life.


Drink More Water


Ok so who else is guilty of sitting there are reaching for a coffee first thing in the morning? As our body is mostly made up of water we should be honoring this and keeping it topped up, increased hydration has many benefits such as better concentration, improved brain function, weight control etc etc........


Moving Your Body


This isn't rocket science peeps, even though it feels like the last thing you want to do some days GET THAT BODY MOVING! It releases all the endorphins improving your mood, helps to maintain your weight, boosts energy and aids in keeping nasty things such as heart disease at bay, how many more benefits can you think of for exercise?


Waking Early


I'm a bit biased on this one, I honestly think this has made a huge difference to my life so I will write about it from my POV. I get up at 4.30am, and this is absolutely out of choice, no body else is awake I have time to be on my own, plan my day and get all of those little annoying things done that I don't really want to do and will no doubt get put towards the bottom of the pile should I not have ticked them off first thing in the morning. Bonus is that you wake up on your own terms and not to some one (a toddler) screaming in your face asking for juice. Don't believe me? there's a whole movement about it google the miracle morning and you'll see what I'm talking about.


Meditation


Calming the mind, being not doing, being present all of these things can give us clarity on what we truly want; if we can tune in to what we are hearing. There are many different types of meditation and it can take a while to find one that resonates with you (I am yet to find a practice that I can stick to), but once you have mastered it the benefits are bountiful such as increased mental clarity, better creativity and imagination, more patience and you can manage stress better, what's not to like? I better get cracking and find one that I can stick too!
